Beautiful park. Got a chance to put our kayaks in the water. Some nice paddling. The little Beach area they had setup was very nice as well.
We camp at Salamonie several times a year in the Apple Orchard (primative). We love this place!
Love Salamonie Lake although it's not much of a lake right now
We stayed in the Apple orchard primitive area site 1 in this area it's like stepping back in time vault toilets are nasty there is no lighting what so ever the gravel pads need help they are level but full of grass. On the website it says no showers but you can use the ones in the modern camp ground shower house 3 is the best. The playgrounds are full of weeds and out dated wood play structures my two year old got a splinter from one of them. We where over charged it clearly says $12.00 + .84tax we where charged $12.84 + tax and charged an entrance fee on top of camping not worth the price.
The park itself is very nice. Things are cluttered at the Nature Center. Burned out bulbs, LED lights on the big map are not working. The bird watching window is filthy on both sides. The bird houses look as though they don't get cleaned very often. The nature stores sells junky stuff, most are not natured related.
